While we are disappointed that there may not be cruise ships in Victoria this summer, we know this to be a temporary measure in support of tourism in Alaska, where many towns are dependent on the economic benefit derived from the cruise industry.

The cruise lines, along with cruise partners and suppliers, are working with Transport Canada and Canadian Health Authorities to revisit having cruise ships make ‘technical’ calls this summer. With these technical stops, passengers would NOT disembark.

PNWTS and our parent company, Western Group, the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority, Cruise Lines, and other stakeholders are working diligently to return Cruise to our region safely.

We remain confident that we will see ships sailing into Ogden Point in 2022. We thank our tourism partners and the residents of Greater Victoria for their continued support of the cruise industry, understanding the $130 million annually the cruise industry contributes to our local economy.
